Abstract
- The polysaccharide composition of dried bulbs of Orchis mascula (L.) L. is reported. The obtained polysaccharides were studied as sulfate derivatives, were called SP-S, and were purified by ion-exchange chromatography over a column of DEAE 650M to afford four fractions. Homogeneous polysaccharides were obtained by purifying these fractions using a column of Sephadex G-150. The chemical characteristics were studied. The antioxidant properties of these fractions were determined.
