Artificial intelligence augmented design iteration support

Design is an iterative process that aims at problem-solving. While the importance of mental iteration has been identified, there are little research on how to improve mental iteration in design process. In this paper, we propose a method to augment design by AI. An experiment was conducted to study the effect of AI augment on design iteration. The results indicate AI augment could improve the designers’ performance in fluency and stylization.
