Abstract

All experimental results obtained in our laboratory during the last few years concerning the behaviour of various native nucleic acids, on a mercury | solution interface, are presented. On the basis of these results and taking into account the dynamic structure of DNA's as indicated by Von Hippel and Prinz, a general pattern of the behaviour of native DNA and of its polynucleotidic derivatives on a charged interface is proposed.
