Abstract

A series of tests was performed on a Chinese alloy steel. The influence of several variables on the relation of J-COD and the plastic rotational factor rp is experimentally studied. These variables are yield strength σy and work-harding exponent n of each material, and the crack depth/specimen width ratio a w . Results show that the relationship of J-COD and the plastic rotational factor rp should be a function of the yield strength σy, strain-hardening exponent n and a w ratio.
