Compact dual band suspended semicircular microstrip antenna with half U-slot

Abstract: A novel, compact suspended semicircular patch with a half U-slot antenna is proposed for dual frequency operation. Parametric study of this new configuration is carried out by varying length and width of the slot and the coaxial feed probe radius and its position. The dual frequency ratio from about 1.18 to 1.66 has been achieved by varying the slot parameters, position, and radius of feed probe. Experiments have been carried out with good agreement with simulated results. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
