Analysis of the mechanical systolic performance of an ovine model of left ventricular aneurysm using magnetic resonance imaging tissue tagging

LV end-diastolic (EDV) and end-systolic (ESV) volumes and ejection fraction (EF) were measured from angiograms performed before (PRE) and 3 months after (POST) implantation. Average myocyte length and width, measures of hypertrophy, were determined at 3 months in isolated myocytes from both groups and compared to normal (NL) dogs (n 5 5).
