Abstract: Cd 1-x Mn x Te crystals exhibit a strong optical rectification and electro-optic effects. We present our studies on Cd 0.55 Mn 0.45 Te single crystals, operating as efficient emitters and detectors of THz radiation transients, when excited by femtosecond optical pulses.
