Abstract

This paper analyses the mathematical model of the regional multi-energy system and brings in Multifrontal Method and the nested dissection to solve the model. The model consists of linear and nonlinear algebraic equations and differential equations. The latter two kinds of equations can be finally turned into sparse linear equations. By applying Multifrontal Method, the linear matrix can be factorized in parallel instead of in serial and the consuming time can be reduced. The nested dissection can rearrange the elements of the sparse matrix to reach a high degree of parallelism and improve the performance of Multifrontal Method. Based on the 20-vertex system and the 536-vertex system which both have the similar structure to a typical regional multi-energy system, the numerical computation tests are carried out and the results indicate that the nested dissection goes well with Multifrontal Method while solving a regional multi-energy system.
