Adaptive method for SNR estimation in speech signal

Some laringeal pathologies are characterised by the irregularities existing in the acoustic signal. This type of irregularity tends to be described by the signal/noise ratio (SNR). The authors present a new method to detect the SNR in voice signals based on the optimal filter. The results indicate that this method can be used to establish a differential diagnosis in acoustic systems of voice evaluation.
