The article discusses verbal and non-verbal means of expressing the category of emotivity in Japanese comics. In accordance with the aim of the work, the features of verbal and non-verbal means of expressing the category of emotivity in manga were identified. To achieve the purpose of the study, the specificity of manga as a special type of creolized text was determined; the category of emotivity as an object of linguistic study was studied; the features of verbal and nonverbal means of expressing the category of emotivity in manga were revealed. In the practical part of the study, verbal and non-verbal means of expressing the category of emotivity in manga were considered. The results of the conducted research have shown that manga is a creolized text, where the emotive space is realized on two levels: verbal (emotive vocabulary, nominal suffixes, speech characteristics of characters) and nonverbal (illustrations, phylacters, arrangement of frames on the page).
