Abstract
- Plant study on the ecological variation characters on bioaugmentation activated carbon was conducted, and the results show that when the operation time does not exceed 72 h in every backwashing cycle, bacteria on activated carbon immobilize firmly and the bacteria amount keeps relatively steady with (4~5) x 108 CFU/(gCarbon) in upper part and (2~3) x 108 CFU/(gCarbon) in lower part. But the bacteria activity declines slowly along with the operation time. The SOUR of the upper part declines from 1.1 x 103 mgO2/(cm3 Ch) to 0.8 x 103 mgO2/(cm3 Ch) and the SOUR of the lower part declines from 0.75 x 103 mgO2/(cm3 Ch) to 0.6 x 103 mgO2/(cm3 Ch). The causation is mainly that the aboriginal bacteria rush into the process system continuously in little amount and engender certain impact on the niche of the high-activated bacteria. The high-activated bacteria distributing by monolayer and flocculently on the surface of activated carbon, and then they exist greatly ground holes and crack on the surface of activated carbon, forming countless active centers for biology decomposing.
