Abstract
- We demonstrate that the skin effect and eddy currents in 123 / Ag composite have a strong influence on the real χ' and imaginary χ parts of the susceptibility measured by the AC technique. We think that the interpretation of susceptibility measurements (even made at low frequency) in terms of the critical-state model for determining critical currents on superconductor/good conductor composites is questionable because of the strong influence of metal addition on the imaginary part of the susceptibility.
