Abstract

paper formation, smoothness, bulk, ink absorption, printability. Abstract. The impact of the paper formation on smoothness, compressibility, uniform of ink absorption is discussed in this paper. The experimental esults indicate that the paper with bad formation leads to higher apparent bulk, and the paper with bad formation shows nonuniform calendering and low compressibility. The bad formation of paper also results in deformation and omission of printing dots, which affects directly the reproduction of the printing images.
