КОГНИТИВНО-ПРАГМАТИЧЕСКИЕ АСПЕКТЫ ФУНКЦИОНИРОВАНИЯ СОБЫТИЙНОЙ ЛЕКСИКИ В МУЛЬТИМЕДИЙНОМ ПРОСТРАНСТВЕ (НА МАТЕРИАЛЕ НОВОСТНЫХ ЗАГОЛОВОЧНЫХ КОМПЛЕКСОВ)

The article explores cognitive and pragmatic aspects of event nouns functioning in news headline complexes in multimedia discourse. It provides comparative analysis of structural and semantic peculiarities of headlines of news channels Euronews and BBC World News and their online versions. In the focus of attention are event nouns as means of linguistic compression in linguistic presentation of events. The paper suggests a classification of lexical-semantic groups of event nouns frequently used in headline complexes and reveals their cognitive-pragmatic potential in news discourse.
