Abstract
- In Chapters 5 and 6, lactic acidosis and ketoacidosis were discussed. These acidoses are characterized by high anion gap (AG). Other causes of high AG metabolic acidosis include ingestion of alcohols, glycols, salicylates, acetaminophen (paracetamol), toluene, and paraldehyde. This chapter focuses on the following toxins that cause acid-base disorders
