Abstract
- The thermodynamic properties of liquid sodium + cadmium and sodium + indium alloys were determined in the temperature range 350 to 450 °C by measurements of electromotive force using a Pyrex glass electrode. The property of the glass to conduct electricity only with sodium ions was used to prepare alloys of low concentration and high purity. Gibbs energies, entropies, and enthalpies as well as excess and integral thermodynamic functions, are presented for the two systems over their whole composition range.
