Abstract
- A strategy to gate the emission efficiency of semiconductor nanocrystals in response to optical signals is proposed. Reversible modulation of the emission of CdTe nanocrystals has been studied utilizing energy transfer mechanisms in the hybrid spiropyran/CdTe system on a timescale of tens of seconds. The possibility of all-optical processing and optical control at molecular level with a nano-photonic system is demonstrated.
