Abstract

A compact multi-wavelength Brillouin fiber laser exploiting fiber Bragg grating that provides a high number of Brillouin Stokes signals and acceptable average of the optical signal to noise ratio has been experimentally demonstrated. This configuration performed by using the ring cavity technique with different lengths of Brillouin gain medium. The operational principles are both based on the combination of stimulated Brillouin scattering effect and multiple four wave mixing processes. The improvement of 38 Brillouin Stokes signals and 35 anti-Stokes signals have been achieved by utilizing 10 km of single mode fiber and 90% of the output coupling ratio.
