Abstract
- One of the most serious issues that requires special attention is the protection of distribution networks. Using the proper protective equipment improves the safety of the power distribution network during fault conditions. Fault current limiter (FCL) is a type of modern preservation system used to protect power networks and equipment. The voltage restoration of buses during faulty conditions is one of the main concerns of power networks. A group of coordinated DC reactor type fault current limiters are designed and tested in this study to protect the network and restore its bus voltage during the fault period. The proposed FCLs coordination strategy is modelled and simulated in the MATLAB platform, and the results are validated.
