Abstract

The translations of Lucretius in Spain before the twentieth century have been very scarce, to the point that it can be stated without hesitation that there has not been a deep approach to the epicurean poet in our country until the last century. After a brief review of the Spanish versions of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the manuscript translation of Matias Sanchez (1832) and its connection with that of the Abbe Marchena (1791) is analyzed.
