Abstract

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement is indicated as an alternative to conventional surgical treatment for elderly patients with low, moderate, and high surgical risk, or as the best therapeutic strategy for patients considered inoperable. The transfemoral vascular access is the preferred route for replacement. However, in a small portion of the population, this access is not possible for anatomical reasons.
