ChemInform Abstract: Dehydrohalogenation of the Bis-dihalocarbene Adducts of Some Methoxycyclohexa-1,4-dienes: Revision of Product Structures

Reaction of the tricyclic compound (1a) with potassium t-butoxide has been shown to give the diene (5) and not the isomeric homotropilidene (2a) as previously reported. The structure of compound (5) was established by single-crystal X-ray analysis at 130 K.
