Abstract
- This paper presents the analysis and design of a single-phase single-stage high-power-factor AC/DC converter employing a series-parallel resonant topology operating in self-sustained oscillating mode. A control approach is proposed to achieve low total harmonic distortion of the input current. This approach does not require sensing of the input current. In addition, the inverter output current is limited during transients, and the converter operates with zero voltage switching for all operating conditions including open and short circuit. The performance of the proposed scheme is verified experimentally on a 500 W prototype.
