Abstract

Jackson traps baited with 20 mg of ( Z,E )-9,12-tetradecadien-1-ol acetate and placed in crop fields and orchards around Beltsville, Md., in the late spring and summer 1975 attracted 200–300 adult male Ephestiodes infimella Ragonot each/night. Attraction continued for 4 months though the traps were not rebaited. As little as 1 mg attracted more than 100 males each night. Smaller numbers of males were captured in traps baited with 0.1–50 µg of the attractant.
