Abstract

The evaluation of research work is an essential element of the scientific enterprise. In general, the evaluation of researchers and their work is highly dependent on the social and economic condition of the country in which the researchers work. The most-used model to evaluate research was based on peer review, but when this method became inefficient In Romania, the alternative was the quantitative model. One of the quantitative model who mix the evaluate research with information and communication technology is DEXi: The program for Multi-Attribute Decision Making. Katerina Taskova and Jožef Stefan used the software tool DEXi to construct a qualitative multi-attribute model aimed at evaluating and analyzing researchers. DEXi is particularly suitable for a hierarchical decomposition of evaluation problems that require judgment and qualitative reasoning. I used this software to evaluate more then 100 Romanian research entities, including: National Research Institutes, Universities, Research institutes of the Romanian Academy, Medical Units and Companies.
