Abstract

Heparins must be given parenter-ally, and their administration requiresconsiderable health care resources.Warfarinhasanunpredictabledosere-sponse,interactswithmanydrugs,andcanbeaffectedbychangesindiet;thus,continuedcoagulationmonitoringanddose adjustment are necessary.
