Nature conservancy and ecotourism

The Pantanal was largely unknown to the general public when in the late 80’s the soap-opera “Pantanal” by the Manchete television channel brought its beauty to millions of houses. It is indeed an uncommon situation, that a large area in need of conservation steps directly, without any intermediate stage, from oblivion into the jet and television age.
