Optimization of Power Budget in RSOA Based Mm-wave Radio-over-Fibre Access Network

Abstract
- In this paper we have investigated a mm-wave Radio-over-Fibre access network solution. After basic transmission quality assessments two methods are suggested to overcome the poor modulation characteristics of the reflective semiconductor amplifier and decrease the error rate in uplink direction. Device parameters have been optimized, namely the uplink-downlink power budget and RSOA bias current.
