Influence of Traffic Signal Countdown on Traffic Safety in China

The paper focuses on the influence of traffic signal countdown on traffic safety in China. Combining with other scholar's researches, the authors use descriptive statistics and analysis of variance methods to analyze the data. The paper summarizes the influence of traffic signal countdown on motor vehicles and pedestrians. Finally, conclusions and recommendations are drawn to provide a reference for future applications of traffic signal countdown. The green signal countdown should be used with great caution. The red signal countdown should be set according to different situations. And there is a great need to enhance education of traffic safety for the pedestrians and strengthen the enforcement.
