Abstract

The present invention provides methods for detecting nucleic acid mutations and genetic polymorphisms by single base extension analysis. Specifically, the invention provides an apparatus and methods for the detection of single base extension of a particular oligonucleotide in an oligonucleotide microarray following hybridization between oligonucleotides bound to defined regions of a polymeric hydrogel-based microarray and nucleic acids in a biological sample.
