Properties of the low-energy excited states in 125I and 127I

The half-lives of the excited states in 125 I and 127 I have been measured with a time-to-amplitude converter. The reduced transition probabilities B (M1) and B (E2) have been established, and the results have been compared with the predictions of the single-particle model as well as with the “pairing-plus-quadrupole-force” model used by Kisslinger and Sorensen for spherical nuclei.
