Tuning the static and dynamic magnetic properties of c-axis oriented hcp-(CoIr) thin films by the addition of Cr

Abstract
- In the present work, we have investigated both static and dynamic magnetic properties of c-axis oriented hcp- ( CoIr ) 100 - x Cr x soft magnetic thin films in great detail. We have found that the coercivity decreases much faster than the saturation magnetization with the increasing of Cr content in favor of better soft magnetic properties. Moreover, the in-plane and out-of-plane magnetic anisotropy can be greatly changed as a function of x. Therefore, the microwave magnetic properties can be tuned according to the requirements of different applications.
