Abstract

This paper provides an idea of modeling a Photovoltaic (PV) system, which is to be used as a primary energy source for an electric vehicle. A basic PV array fails to provide the power ratings needed to run a vehicle. Such high power applications require a step-up DC converter to not only boost its output voltage but also deal with the high current and voltage ratings, which the interleaved boost converter satisfies. The proposed model increases the efficiency of PV arrays. The model is simulated using MATLAB-Simulink.
