H-Shaped Electrically Resonant Terahertz Metamaterials

Abstract

We designed the H-shaped metamaterial which is used at terahertz frequencies, and it can suppress magnetic response and construct purely electrical resonance. The resonance behaviors and the impact of geometrical parameters of the H-shaped metamaterial were analyzed by using effective circuit model. The simulation results indicate that permittivity of H-shaped metamaterial is negative at terahertz frequencies. H-shaped metamaterial could be used widely in the design of terahertz devices due to its simple structure and easy manufacture.
