Abstract
- The effect of spin-polarization on the beam-plasma streaming instability in magnetized quantum plasma is studied. The spin-polarization is induced by the difference in concentration of spin-up and spin-down electrons produced under the influence of magnetic field. The contribution of quantum effects like Fermi electron pressure, Bohm potential and spin magnetic moment have been taken into account while developing the beam-plasma interaction picture. The dielectric permeability of the high-density plasma medium has been evaluated through which the dispersion relation for the beam-plasma instability has been setup and critical wave number for beam-plasma instability has been obtained. The results show that the spin-polarization and streaming speed of electron beam significantly effect dispersion and growth rate of instability. It is found that the spin polarization increases the growth rate and shifts the threshold of instability as well as its termination point towards larger values.
