Abstract
- In this paper, the elastic-plastic analysis of cantilever beam and the Reinforced Concrete (RC) column-Steel (S) beam connection are studied using the Radial Basis Function- Finite Difference (RBF-FD) method. A direct method using bilinear nodes is proposed to deal with the instability caused by the first derivative calculation in the traditional RBF-FD method. Based on the idea of gradient projection method, the improved RBF-FD method is further applied to the multi-domain material nonlinearity. Numerical results are validated with the finite element method software (COMSOL).
