Modeling and Analysis of Harmonic Currents of GSC Caused by Harmonic Grid Voltage and Dead Time

Abstract
- This paper deduces a mathematic model of grid side converter(GSC) to quantitatively analyze the harmonic currents caused by two factors, i.e., grid background harmonic voltages and dead time effect. The impedance of GSC respectively corresponding to these two factors is built and the harmonic currents can be precisely calculated. The model also explains the coupling phenomenon of two kinds of harmonic currents and the generation mechanism of the phenomenon. Finally, the comparison of simulation results and calculation results validates the effectiveness of the model.
