Abstract

This paper proposes a fast and optimal model predictive control method to control a three-phase four-leg quasi Z-source inverter. The four-leg predictive control results in the fast performance of the converter control by changing the control flowchart, cost function, and also reducing the volume of computations in the sampling periods. By using the flowchart presented in this paper, if the optimal switching state relates to the shoot-through state, this mode will specify at the beginning of the flowchart without checking the other states. The result of this process is speeding up and improve computing power. The proposed predictive control has the capability of separately controlling each phase, which confirms the simulations performed in MATLAB/Simulink software.
