Abstract

A highly versatile chromatography computer system that combines real-time data acquisition, Instrument control, and sufficient redundancy to prevent data loss In the event of hardware failure is described. Currently four laboratories and nineteen gas and liquid chromatographs are connected to the computer, but the potential for system expansion exists. The description is directed toward scientists, with little attention paid to programming detail and much attention paid to the noteworthy concepts that account for the versatility of the system.
