Abstract
- This paper presents how to simulate the biochemical transformation and degradation processes for Organic matter (COD), Ammonia nitrogen (NH4-N) and Nitrate (NO2-N+ NO3-N) treating synthetic wastewater in subsurface flow constructed wetlands with the Constructed Wetland Model N°1 (CWM1), which has been developed in HYDRUS Wetland Module,Version2.Organic components estimation experiments had been carried out. Values of stoichiometric coefficients and kinetic parameters in classic literature were applied, but some parameters had been adjusted to match measured data. At last, the simulation results were evaluated by deflection analysis. The quality of the results suggested that CWM1 is a promising numerical simulation model for studying the biochemical transformation and degradation processes in SSF CWs.
