The collective mobility of protons and deuterons in mixtures of light and heavy water

A model description is presented of the conductance of H + + D + in mixed H 2 O + D 2 O solution. The result of a mathematical derivation agrees very well with the non-linear dependence of the conductance on the isotopic mixing ratio, known since 1935, and that has never been explained satisfactorily. The experimental diffusion coefficient varies similarly.
