Abstract
- Background. Angiotensin II (Ang II) is involved in the direct inhibition of renin release from juxtaglomerular (JG) cells in the kidney as the negative feedback loop of the renin-angiotensin system. Ang II also modulates renin release via the sympathetic nervous system, since the renal sympathetic nerves stimulate renin release, and the interaction of the sympathetic nervous system with Ang II has been demonstrated to occur at multiple levels.
