Abstract

A theoretical study, based on energy considerations, is made of the flexural-torsional instability of compound monosymmetric beams, composed of two monosymmetric beams, joined by a connection having finite stiffnesses less than those required to provide fully composite action. The stabilizing effect of partially composite sheet cladding is included in the analysis.
