Abstract
- H 2 evolution from photocatalytic decomposition by liquid phase plasma was examined over Ag-loaded photocatalysts. The effect of methanol addition into water was estimated in the photocatalytic water splitting. Photocatalytic activity of perovskite was also assessed in the photocatalytic water splitting. H 2 was evolved in the photocatalytic splitting of water by reacting of active species. The photocatalytic activity for H 2 generation of TiO 2 prepared by sol-gel method was higher than that of commercial TiO 2 photocatalyst. The rate of H 2 evolution was progressed with Ag loading on TiO 2 photocatalysts. The addition of methanol into water brought to a significant enhancement of H 2 evolution. The methanol acted as an electron donor to increase the amount of H 2 production.
