Abstract
- Wave Particle Interaction Analyzer (WPIA) is onboard software to be installed in the upcoming JAXA/ERG satellite. The significance of the WPIA is studied for measurement of the energy transfer process directly between energetic electrons and whistler-mode chorus emissions in the Earth's inner magnetosphere. The WPIA measures a relative phase angle between the wave electromagnetic field vector (E or B) and velocity vector (v) of each electron and computes physical quantities such as an inner product W, where W is the inner product between v and E and is the time variation of the kinetic energy of energetic electrons interacting with plasma waves. This paper presents the feasibility of the WPIA, which is evaluated by applying the analysis to simulation results of whistler-mode chorus generation.
