Abstract

Laser cutting is widely used in the automotive industry. Customers with diversified and personalized requirements increase, small batch production is becoming a trend. Low cost robot flexible laser cutting came into being, but the positioning accuracy of the robot is not high. In some small holes processing it can't meet the accuracy requirements, which limited its application. A new cutting method is presented in this paper. The servo motor controlled by high precision motion controller which drive precision cross slide which drives the laser head to holes cutting. The results showed that the new method improved the accuracy and speed of the small hole laser cutting, and the whole system has a high flexibility, takes up less space.
