Antenatal guideline: that sinking feeling

Every time a new NICE guideline is produced, the impression I get is that invariably they are based on expediency and vested commercial interests, and although they assure us that they are based on good research evidence, the evidence is not apparent from the documents. My heart sank into my boots when I read the latest antenatal care guideline.
