Delta’s Adventure: A Constructivism-based Serious Game for the 1st Grade of Elementary School Students on Inequality Concept

Abstract

The aim of this study is developing a serious game as instructional multimedia to teach inequality of natural numbers for 1st grade of elementary school. The instructional design of this study was using Four-D (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate) research and development by Sivasailam Thiagarajan. The instructional multimedia test done by instructional media expert. The User Acceptance Test involving five first year students of elementary school. The result of this study were: (1) The assessment score of instructional media expert was 25 which is in an excellent criteria (above 23.3), (2) Based on User Acceptance Test, students felt engage with the instructional multimedia and they interested in inequality of natural numbers concept. Those results showed that Delta’s Adventure game was effectively used for learning of inequality of natural numbers of the 1st grade elementary school.
