Abstract
- In this paper we show that the optical chirality of plasmonic chiral metamaterials can be manipulated by superchiral light. In particular, the handedness selective enhancement and switching effect of optical chirality, along with the delocalization of the corresponding chiral fields, are observed in the near-field regime of a gammadion nanostructure. Our results indicate that the interaction between superchiral light and planar chiral nanostructures can further improve accessibility for plasmonics based enantiomeric sensing and potentially enable chiroptical imaging systems that can be coherently controlled.
