Abstract
- In this report, a pulsed electro-acoustic (PEA) device is modified to test the charge profile in epoxy resin at 77 K (-196°C) and successfully obtains the charge signal. A piezoelectric material suitable for cryogenic application is chosen for the measurement. In the experiment, the polarization and depolarization tests are operated with different voltage supply procedures. After initial wave recovery, the waveforms are discernable enough to identify the charge information. It is found that the charges are much less active at the low temperature with both slow dissipating rate and low injection quantity, comparing to the case at 293 K.
